-Congratulations to the Red Hawk Field Hockey team in winning the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Mid-Atlantic Championship in Washington, D.C. on Nov. 4. Click here for more sports news.
- Lynarkah Montique of Employee Relations raised $257 single-handedly, or should we say single-footedly, in the Essex County Heart Walk for the American Heart Association on Oct. 21. Montique was part of the 40-member Montclair State University team that included President Susan A. Cole, Gilbert Rivera of Employee Relations, Rick Brown of Student Activities, Susan Skalsky and Marie Cascarano of the Health and Wellness Center, and Christopher Vidro, Randy Padula and Barbara Giuliano of University Police. The three-mile walk began at the ADP Corporate Campus in Roseland. The amount raised by the Montclair State team has not yet been determined.
- Effective Dec. 1, it will be mandatory to include the area code for all off-campus calls including local 973 calls. To make an off-campus call, press 9-1-area code-7-digit number. For more information, call the office of Telecom Services at 4107 or 7751.
- The Women of Montclair State is holding its annual invitation for membership. Dues for the 2001-02 year are $10. Dues and other contributions to the Women of Montclair State provide scholarships to deserving students. To join the Women of Montclair State, send a check, made payable to the organization, to Marsha Campbell-Young, Student Center, Room 407.
- The deadline for filing proposals for Global Education Grants is Nov. 9. (Guidelines, instructions and application forms.) For more information, call Wendy Gilbert Simon at 4185.
- The replacement charge for parking proxy cards is $10 and the replacement charge for hang tags is $5. Anyone who has paid more than $5 for hang tag replacement will be refunded the difference by Parking Services.
- Montclair State employees who are alumni and are interested in becoming
founding members of a Hispanic Alumni Chapter should call Gladys Tate
at 973-292-2000 ext. 2139 or 973-428-1673. Chapter guidelines require
a minimum of 20 active members of the Montclair State Alumni Association
in order to initiate a chapter.
