Patrick Morelli of English designed the Sept. 11 bronze sculptures and memorial at Eagle Rock Reservation in West Orange. Gov. James E. McGreevey unveiled the work at an Oct. 20 ceremony.

Cynthia Onore of the Center of Pedagogy received $522,000 from the U.S. Department of Education to fund a project in which Montclair State is the administering institution in a collaboration with William Paterson University, New Jersey City University, Kean University and the public school districts of Paterson, Newark and Jersey City, working together to increase the number of qualified teachers in urban schools. The program provides for the development of a new alternative route program that will provide high-quality teacher preparation and swift placement of the teachers in urban classrooms.

John Wooten of TheatreFest received $26,158 from the New Jersey Council on the Arts to fund the third year of a three-year commitment for program support of TheatreFest's development of new, innovative works and the staging of children's theater productions, celebrity concerts and musical revivals.
