Meet the Coordinator of Conference and Campus Services

Following a national search, Phillip J. Cardillo has joined the finance division as coordinator of Conference and Campus Services. Cardillo's background includes university event and conference facility management, budgeting, planning and almost 15 years conference management experience in a university setting.

"I am delighted and honored to be a member of the MSU family and excited to be coordinating the new Conference Center in University Hall," said Cardillo.

The seventh-floor conference center will have a spectacular view of New York, a ballroom that can accommodate groups of up to 520 people, a private dining area for groups of 40 or less and a full-service kitchen.

"My mission is to make the conference center a world-class venue that enhances the educational mission of MSU while providing an important new revenue stream," he said.

Cardillo's higher education experience comes from Fairleigh Dickinson University, where he served as Director of Conferences and Facility Operations and at Seton Hall University as the Assistant Athletic Director for Operations and Athletic Events. Most recently, Cardillo was the senior operations manager at the American Museum of Natural History.

"I chose Montclair State because of its exceptional reputation for quality education," said Cardillo. "This is an exciting and dynamic moment for MSU. I wanted to be part of not only a new conference center, but part of the centennial and the Campaign for the Second Century."
