April is open enrollment

With April right around the corner, now is the time to start thinking about whether you need to make changes in your health or dental benefit plans.

Employees have the month of April to make benefit changes. To help make decisions easier, a health fair will be held Wednesday, April 5, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Student Center Ballrooms. In addition, representatives from Blue Cross/Blue Shield will give a presentation Monday, April 10, from 10 a.m. to noon in Dickson Hall, Room 177.

Employee Benefits Coordinator Joanne Wale urges everyone to read the packet that will be distributed the first week of April outlining this yearıs changes. Changes include the discontinuation of subsidized rates for those in the traditional plan making less than $40,000 per year. Effective July 1, everyone enrolled in the traditional plan will be charged 25 percent of the premium. The cost for HMOs will be 5 percent of the premium cost and New Jersey Plus will continue to be free. The premium cost rates will be included in the packets.
