Students can now apply online
Prospective students can now apply to Montclair State online from any Internet-linked computer. The service, which is made possible through Embark.com, became available Sept. 25 for both undergraduate and graduate admission. Since that time, Undergraduate Admissions has received 70 online applications, according to Director Al Buechler. Full

One new revolution in geography is advanced technology that combines computer mapping with spatial analysis. This means scientists now can study a landscape as it's changing and how its features interact. According to William Solecki of Earth and Environmental Studies, the concept of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) goes back 20 years, but the technology to do more continues to improve.Full

When freshman Doris Coughlan had to do a paper for her basic composition class, she decided to write about her childhood. She talked about how a horse and carriage traveled the streets selling ice cream and how she would come from a swim in the ocean during World War II with oil on her body from the sunken ships. Full
