If you maneuver through all the boxes stacked from floor to ceiling in Central Stores, you will find, hidden in the middle of the warehouse, Marion Zaborney's office. Supervisor of Central Stores/Receiving, Marion is the person everyone turns to when looking for an important shipment. "If a package is lost or someone needs to pick something up, I know about it," she said.

Marion's shop is much like the University's own UPS operation. All suppliesÑfrom bathroom tissue to computer disksÑare brought to Central Stores/Receiving and distributed throughout campus.

"It can be hard keeping track of everything, but a new technological system, called the Dolphin System, helps because all the merchandise is scanned with codes," Marion explained. "It's a complex system, but it's a better way to keep tabs on everything."

Marion supervises four full-time workers and three students. "We're like a little family here," she said. "I've worked in Central Stores/Receiving for nine years, and the best part about it is getting to know so many people in the community. I know practically everyone on campus."

Marion also handles supply orders, works in the store when merchandise is being delivered, and organizes inspections for shipping trucks and the building.

Along the window sill in Marion's office small collectible toys and action figures add color to her cardboard surroundings. "The toys help balance the cluttered and stressful look to my office," she said.

Marion is a passionate reader and loves the outdoors. "I have five newspapers delivered to my house on Sundays and I read them all," she said. "I also love gardening in my spare time."
