HR staff plays like a team and looks like one, too

If you think personnel in Human Resources dress like they're ready to play an organized sport every Monday then they're getting their message across - Human Resources is a team. As a reminder of their commitment toward teamwork, employees begin each week sporting collared navy blue Polo shirts with the Human Resources logo.

The shirts were the brainchild of Shenita Brokenburr, director of Classified Staffing. "We want to build camaraderie, unity and spirit within the division," she said, "and we thought this would be a good way to accomplish that."

Valerie Fink of Payroll Services said the shirts are a symbol of the office's team spirit. "We've always worked as a team, and now we dress the part," she said.

And what do other departments think of the idea? "The feedback has been great," said Judith Hain, vice president for Human Resources. "People think it's a wonderful idea because they like what it communicates."
