Contact: MONTCLAIR, N.J. -- Tibor Rosenstein, the foremost chef in Hungary and owner of Rosenstein Restaurant in Budapest, will headline an evening devoted to "Paprika as a Culinary and Cultural Statement". The Rosenstein restaurant is a traditional family restaurant, located in the heart of the inner city, serving traditional Hungarian cuisine. Chef Rosenstein has selected several special recipes, which will be prepared with Montclair State University's Food Management students. In addition to the opportunity to learn from this master chef about the history of Hungarian food, participants will be able to sample a number of exquisitely prepared dishes and Hungarian wines. The event, which is offered as part of the semester-long Hungarian Festival of the Arts and Humanities, is free and open to the public, but reservations are required. It will be held Thursday March 9 from 7:00 - 9:00 pm in the new Food Management Department facilities in University Hall Room 4011. Seating is very limited and will be assigned on a First-Come, First-Served basis. Montclair State's Hungarian Festival of the Arts and Humanities is a semester long series of events relating to Hungarian culture, its origins, and its influences. The festival includes theatrical and musical performances, art exhibitions, films, and lectures. Organized by the University's Global Education Center, the Office of Arts and Cultural Programming and the School of the Arts, the Festival continues through May 2006. The Hungarian Festival of the Arts and Humanities is made possible with generous grants from the New Jersey Council for the Humanities and the Trust for Mutual Understanding. The Terplan Family Foundation and the Hungarian Cultural Center of New York have also provided support for various Hungarian initiatives.
