6 South Asian novelists to speak at MSU

UPPER MONTCLAIR, N. J.

A day-long conference, ³Partition, Exile and Memory: A Literary Exploration of 50 Years of Indian and Pakistani Independence,² will be held at Montclair State University on Thursday, April 2, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The conference, free and open to the public, will be held in Dickson Hall: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Room 178; 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Brantl Lecture Hall.
Highlighting the conference will be a series of readings and discussions by six prominent South Asian novelists and poets: Agha Shahid Ali, Susham Bedi, Amitava Kumar, Tahira Naqvi, Vijay Seshardi and Bapsi Sidhwa. There will also be film screenings and dance performances. Refreshments will be served.
The conference is sponsored by the Visiting Writers Committee of the English Department; the Honors Program, and the Global Education Center.
