ACADEMIC COMPUTING
Charge: The Academic
Computing Committee (ACC) makes
recommendations on policies and resources necessary to establish and
maintain
an effective academic computing support system to serve the needs of
academic
researchers, classroom instructors, and students. The
committee also reviews long-range plans
for strengthening academic computing facilities, improving access and
usage of
these facilities, and meeting faculty training needs.
The

TEACHING, RESEARCH AND
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Charge: The
Teaching, Research and Professional
Development Committee recommends policies, programs, and procedures to
the
University Senate to promote the development of intellectual creative,
and
pedagogical interests and skills among the faculty and professional
staff. It
establishes and reviews policies and criteria to promote faculty
research and
professional development; provides guidance for the development and/or
amendment of research related policies and procedures, including the
use of
human subjects or animals in research; and maintains a liaison
relationship
with the University Research Committee (SBR) and the Career Development
Committee. Awards that are not part of
the contract will be considered by this committee.
This
Committee will operate within boundaries set
forth in the Agreement between the State, the University, and the AFT.

UNIVERSITY PLANNING
Charge:
The University Planning
Committee: 1) discusses issues of long-range institutional
planning, 2)
periodically reviews the University's economic, technological, social,
political, and demographic environment and determines the implications
of this
environment for the goals established by the Board of Trustees, as
found in the
mission statement, the statement on the undergraduate program, and the
long-range plan submitted to the Office of Management and Budget, and
3) analyzes
assumptions basic to enrollment, budget projections, academic quality
measures,
and optimal size of the institution.
The
