Learn more about what 2017 attendees had to say about the Hispanic Student College Institute:
I absolutely loved this program. It exceeded my expectations and I am so glad I spent 3 days at MSU. I learned so much and had so much fun.
It was an amazing and insightful experience. I am grateful to have had the chance to partake in the first of many to come.
Throughout the entire three days, I can totally say me and my peers enjoyed it and learned a lot from everything that was offered to us.
It was honestly an amazing 3 days. I was able to learn so much in such a short time not only from the faculty who spoke to us but also from the peer leaders and students. It was inspiring to see a room full of students and even adults that have so much in common with myself. I felt at home at the program and I am so grateful to have been able to be a part of it. I feel so much more prepared for the college application process along with the different programs that MSU offers.
Coming to the Institute I was very nervous, after the first day I wished it was longer. It was an amazing experience and I am honored to have been a participant in the first Hispanic Student College Institute at Montclair State University.
Personally, being surrounded by Latinos like myself made me feel at home and it made me realize that there are other students out there struggling with racial stereotypes but as a group, we will continue to prove them wrong! Go Latinos and Latinas!
It was a pleasure talking and meeting everyone during these 3 days. All the workshops provided were extremely informative and I am so grateful to have been part of this amazing experience.
Overall, it was a great experience. All the presentations were very informative and enjoyable. The portfolios given was a tool to have by. I have a better understanding of the terms and feel more comfortable with the college application as a whole. A highlight would be the mock interview. It was well organized and I enjoyed speaking to someone one on one.
