We’re totally focused on both the overall development and the well-being of our students. We believe that small class environments are more conducive to learning. With a student-to-faculty ratio of 17:1, our professors can interact personally with their students to help further the learning process.
Outside the classroom is an array of student services to help you enroll and schedule classes, adjust to college life, track your academic progress, study well, stay healthy and have fun. You’ll be able to use a first-in-the-nation Campus Connect mobile phone—a 2007 Campus Technology Innovators Award winner—to get your grades, check on assignments, find campus events, see the dining hall menus, plan to meet up with your friends and connect directly with the campus police.
Our special interest living communities enable residential students to live among people with whom they share interests. For example, our First Year Connections living community puts incoming freshmen together in a residence hall that has common areas where new students can meet and mingle. Whether it’s our international living community—in a residence hall that has cooking facilities and is open all year to host our international students—or living communities for arts students or students majoring in science and mathematics, we want your residence experience here to be enjoyable as you learn and build lifelong friendships.
We know the transition to college can be exciting, new—and complex. We are committed to helping you achieve academic and personal success during this transition. Our staff exposes students to the broad range of educational opportunities and works to integrate new students into the University community. In order to enrich the first year experience, Fall Frenzy—a month of activities to help students become familiar with all facets of campus life—offers programs that are informational, entertaining, motivating and inspiring. Fall Frenzy helps students feel at home on the Montclair State campus by acquainting them with the people, offices, departments and programs of the University.
College is new. We can help you find your way.
