Accepted EOF Freshmen Checklist
Submit the Finanical Aid Form
For final acceptance into the EOF program and also to be considered for federal and state financial aid, as well as any merit or non-merit based scholarships, complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form by the MARCH 1 PRIORITY DEADLINE.

Obtain your NetID
Each student is given a NetID which functions as both your e-mail and log-on to many Montclair State University systems. In order to complete numerous other steps of this checklist, you MUST complete this step. Follow instructions at netid.montclair.edu.
Let Us Know You’re Coming
Complete the Candidate Reply Form found in your Acceptance Packet and submit it with the appropriate deposit by the MAY 1 DEADLINE.
Space is limited for the EOF program so the earlier you let us know, the better.
Complete Your Placement Test Reply Forms
Placement tests are administered to many incoming freshmen to ascertain the proper course level for each student. Some students are exempt from the placement tests. Please review the exemption criteria and indicate your status by completing and checking the appropriate line on the Placement Test Reply Form within one week of submitting a deposit.
Review the Foreign Language Placement Announcement and complete the registration form.
Complete Mandatory Immunizations
To ensure the health of our students, all incoming students are required to submit the Montclair State University Immunization Form. Please bring this form to your physician for completion.
Complete Your Housing Application Form
Students who have paid their tuition deposit ($25) and housing deposit ($300) must fill out housing forms. Housing is guaranteed to those who submit deposits by the May 1 deadline.
A reminder that housing is for the full academic year, both fall and spring semesters. Students will be notified via their MSU email account and have 5 days to cancel their agreement otherwise they will be held to the full academic year.
Attend 6-Week Summer Academy
First-year scholars enrolling in September under the provisions of the EOF Program are required to attend the Residential Summer Academy, a rigorous six-week institute designed to assist students with the successful academic and social transition to the University experience.
Attend Orientation/Register for Classes:
As a first year student, you need to attend a MANDATORY Orientation session where you will plan your first schedule and become acclimated to the campus. The Center for Advising & Student Transitions coordinates Orientation.
Submit Your Final Transcripts
Your final transcripts, AP scores, and/or college transcripts must be sent to the Undergraduate Admissions Office. If your courses were still in progress at the time of your acceptance, or if you would like to receive credit for courses that you have taken, we MUST have the official transcript.
