School of Business Alumni Return to Campus to Offer Advice to Students
On Wednesday, December 7 three recent alumni from the School of Business returned to campus to discuss their experiences after Montclair State. Diane Freedman, School of Business Career Services Director, explained, “It’s really important for our students to hear from former students on what to expect in the business world. Montclair State Creates School of Communication and Media
Montclair State University’s Board of Trustees has approved the creation of a new School of Communication and Media. The new school will combine existing, high-quality degree programs with new offerings to provide an unparalleled educational experience to students entering this rapidly changing industry.
The School of Communication and Media will reside within the College of Arts, and will offer Bachelor of Arts degrees in Communication Studies, Television and Digital Media, and Communication and Media Arts, a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Filmmaking, and a Master of Arts in Public and Organizational Communication. College of Education and Human Services Launches Two New Centers
The Center for Autism and Early Childhood Mental Health (CAECMH) serves as a center for professional development, education, clinical services and research around the issues of autism, infant and childhood development, and early childhood mental health.
The Center for Research and Evaluation on Education and Human Services (CREEHS) conducts high-quality research and evaluation studies that address the most pressing issues in education and human services. Graduate Certificate Program in Environmental Forensics Announced
Earth and Environmental Studies is pleased to announce its new Graduate Certificate Program in Environmental Forensics. Greg Collins ’79 has a special place in his heart for his alma mater. “At Montclair State we make the American dream possible for our students,” he says proudly. “What is more important than that?”

Red Hawks Celebrate 40th Anniversary of Undefeated Cross Country Team
In the history of Montclair State athletics spanning eight decades, there have been many teams which have posted memorable seasons, however there are only a select few that were perfect.
In 1971, the men’s cross country team earned that right and placed themselves among the very best the University has ever produced. On Saturday, January 7, the team reunited for their 40th anniversary in addition to being honored at halftime of the Red Hawks men’s basketball game against Kean University. [View full details]

Six in a Row for Men's Basketball as MSU Beats Kean, 77-63

Tom Kaminski ’84
Veteran WCBS Radio traffic reporter and Montclair State University alumnus Tom Kaminski ’84 was presented with the 2011 Allen B. DuMont Broadcaster of the Year Award at the DuMont Television Center on November 11. Celeste Marie Fasone ’71
Celeste Marie Fasone ’71 recently retired from her role as Director of the New Jersey Office of Cable Television after more than 23 years of service. Fasone was the first female and longest serving director at the OCTV. Besides her accomplishments in her role as Director of NJOCTV, Fasone has also achieved many feats in the fields of broadcast journalism. In 1979, she was named Sportscaster of the Year and in 1985 awarded the title of Broadcaster of the Year by the regional Special Olympics Committee. She has won numerous ACE awards as well as others with United Artist Entertainment. [View full details] |
