Montclair State Celebrates Homecoming

Despite the early morning grey skies and afternoon wind and rain the campus enjoyed a day-long celebration that included entertainment in Memorial Auditorium, with students celebrating the music of their favorite New Jerseyans.
The Red Hawks defeated TCNJ's Lions, 15-0.
The day included several alumni gatherings, including that of the alumni brothers of Lambda Chi Delta fraternity who came back to campus from all over the country (some as far as Arizona and Florida) for a Homecoming reunion of their own. In honor of the University's centennial, Lambda Chi Delta alumni brothers presented a generous gift to the Alumni Association and Foundation.

"George Segal:
Modernist Humanist"
Exhibit, Now through Dec. 11
Sculptor George Segal created his art out of
life's ordinary moments: waiting for a bus,
drinking coffee in a diner, listening to the
radio. Segal's ghostly plaster-cast human
replicas are cognitively complex, modernist,
and formally intricate, while at the same
time, humanly profound. This
exhibit includes works from the collections
of the George and Helen Segal Foundation,
Carroll Janis, Inc., the Solomon R.
Guggenheim Museum, the Metropolitan Museum
of Art, and the Whitney Museum of American
Art. Curated by internationally renowned art
critic Donald Kuspit.
