Montclair State’s New Power Plant is Up and Running

Montclair State University’s new environmentally friendly combined heating, cooling and power (CHCP) plant is now fully operational. The new facility provides the 250-acre campus with cost-effective and energy-efficient delivery of steam for heat, chilled water for air conditioning, and natural gas-fired generation of electricity through a new underground energy distribution system. NJ News Commons Receives Grant to Grow NJ News Ecosystem

The NJ News Commons, an initiative of Montclair State University’s School of Communication and Media, was recently awarded a $75,000 grant to help incubate news sites in the state. The grant is part of the New Jersey Recovery Fund, which announced 27 grants totaling $3.8 million last week. [View full details]

Prompted by concern over federal budget cuts to research and higher education at a time when other nations are increasing investment in those areas, Montclair State University President Susan A. Montclair State Earns Spot on Princeton Review’s Fire Safety Honor Roll

Montclair State University has earned a spot on the Fire Safety Honor Roll in the 2014 editions of The Princeton Review’s books, The Best 378 Colleges and The Complete Book of Colleges. Valencia C.F. Becomes Latest Soccer Team to Train at Montclair State

Valencia C.F. became the latest international soccer team to call Montclair State home for at least day as the organization practiced on the campus' Dioguardi Field. Football Assistant Coach Rich O'Connor to Be Inducted into Newark Athletic Hall of Fame

Longtime assistant coach Rich O'Connor will be honored for his outstanding coaching achievements as the football and former baseball assistant. In Memoriam

As we remember the tragic loss of life on September 11, 2001, we honor our Montclair State alumni who perished that day: Jean DePalma '80, Robert "Bobby" Hughes '01, Dorota Kopiczko '99, Joseph Pick '92, Steven Schlag '82, Khalid Shahid '99, Dennis Taormina, Jr. '88 and Shari Kandell, a student who was made an honorary alumna, posthumously.
