“Dr. Douma is my mentor, advisor and the reason I became an Accounting student.  I started as a finance major, but after taking a managerial accounting class with Professor Douma, I was so inspired I decided to change my major to Accounting.” -Agita Jaber ’13

After 40 years as a Professor in the School of Business Department of Accounting, Law and Taxation, Dr. Irene Douma retired in June.  To celebrate a career that touched so many students, many who have become leaders in the business community, we will host an evening of tribute and networking.

Join Dean Brent Chrite, Associate Dean Kimberly Hollister, Accounting Department Chair Frank Aquilino as well as School of Business staff and faculty for an evening of networking, tributes and remembrance as we wish Dr. Douma a happy and healthy retirement.

This fundraising event will establish the “Irene Douma Fund for Accounting Academic Programs.” Under the direction of Accounting Department Chair Frank Aquilino, the fund will support student scholarships and networking activities, as well as faculty research publication costs and license renewal fees.

The Montclair State University Accounting program today is stronger than ever, offering students several course of study options, including a BS Accounting degree and a five-year joint BS/MS Accounting degree, as well as on-campus access to the Becker CPA Review program.
