Giving Tuesday

Montclair State is proud to participate again in Giving Tuesday on November 27, 2018. Giving Tuesday is an international day to celebrate generosity, and we are particularly grateful for your generous support each year.

For Montclair State, Giving Tuesday represents the chance to come together as a community of loyal supporters and give back to make an impact.

This global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration is observed on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving. After the widely recognized shopping events of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. Since its inaugural year in 2012, Giving Tuesday has become a movement that celebrates and supports giving and philanthropy with events throughout the year and a growing catalog of resources.

“We are happy that Giving Tuesday is proving to be a successful annual tradition at Montclair State,” says Stacy Albanese ’08, ’17 MA, Associate Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Engagement. “Giving Tuesday is a great way to celebrate the generosity of our donors, and we are looking forward to continuing the tradition again this year.

Our goal this year is not only to garner support for The Fund for Montclair State, but to also support The Red Hawk Pantry, Montclair State’s on-campus food and supply pantry. For every gift made during the campaign, donors will receive a pair of Montclair State socks, and we’ll also donate a pair of socks to the Red Hawk Pantry.

The day, a 24-hour opportunity to give back, will include outreach to alumni, students, parents, and donors. Be on the lookout for emails and social media posts, and we hope you’ll take the opportunity to hear from our talented Red Hawk Callers.
