We are pleased to announce our recent marriage on March 21, 2010 at a ceremony in Laguna Beach, California.

Though we attended Montclair State years apart from one another, it was our mutual common ground (being MSU Alumni) that sparked our friendship and relationship. We met in 2004 as colleagues, working for New Jersey Network in Trenton, NJ.  Our careers in marketing and advertising have since brought us to Washington, DC and now back to New Jersey where we currently reside (again).

We look forward to a lifetime of love, happiness and children whom we hope will follow in our footsteps and attend Montclair State University as well! (Posted 6.14.10)

Joe and Maryann were both students in the Philosophy & Religion Departments who became friends in their classes and married during the summer after they graduated. Right after graduation, they went to live in Salamanca, Spain for four years, during Spain's transition to democracy. Maryann later returned to MSU and earned an MA in Spanish Literature. Joe and Maryann have been married for 31 years and are the parents of Melynda (26, MSU, 2006), Joe (20) and the grandparents of Olyvia (11 months). Their son-in-law, Billy, was just named the principal of the Teaneck Community Charter School.  Maryann is the 2009-2010 NJ Teacher of the Year and a Distinguished Alumna, 2010. This photo was taken in Ireland on their way to Spain in 1978. (Posted 5.11.10)

Howard and I first met in October of 1995. He was running for Homecoming King and our Greek organizations Tau Kappa Epsilon and Delta Phi Epsilon did Homecoming together. We got engaged on Memorial Day in 1998 and were married at the Bridgewater Manor in 2000. We are looking forward to celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary this fall.  We are lucky that we both attended MSU and found each other. We welcomed our son Thomas in the spring of 2004 and hopefully he will become a second generation MSU graduate! (Posted 2.19.10)

A friend from my Management Process and Organizational Behavior class, Jody Tobia '87 invited me to come see his baseball team play at Ramapo. He introduced me to all the players, including Ronny. A few weeks later, we met up again at a baseball party at Clove and he was there. That's where it all began, Clove Road. That night, Ronny wrote my number on his hand while sitting on a picnic table on the side of the apartments. He called me the next morning and we've been together ever since, married 23 years! We have a 19-year-old daughter and 16-year-old boy and girl twins. Thanks Jody Tobia (still our good friend) and thanks MSU! (Posted 2.14.10)

Debora (Solomon) '66, M.A.'70 and Brian Clifford, '66, M.A.
Debora met Brian on their very first day of Orientation in the fall of 1962.They were sporting frosh dinks, and wearing signs around their necks. The signs had name, hometown, and space for 100 sophomore signatures (sophs. ran the Orientation).  While this sounds corny today, it did allow us to meet lots of frosh, and at least 100 sophomores. Brian and Debbie met at the intersection of the driveway to the kitchen loading dock of Life Hall and the "E temporary" building. We didn't go out until the next year, but have been together ever since. This year, we celebrate our 43rd anniversary.

We retired after almost four decades of teaching and counseling in public schools and colleges. We travel as often as we can. The picture is in the Tetons of Wyoming on a recent trip. (Posted 2.12.10)

Gary and I met in Modern Math I class, my freshmen year and became friends.
I loved his smile and sense of humor. A few more mutual classes led to dating. Our favorite spot was the mall near the Student Center, where we would "relax" between classes! We've been married almost 30 years and have three grown daughters. I still love his smile and how he makes me laugh. (Posted 2.12.10)

Chuck and I met during the fall 1982 semester of my freshman and his sophomore year. I was given an inside room in the then “new” Blanton Hall and my window overlooked his balcony door.  I would see him all the time from my window, and what may have started with a friendly wave moved onto conversation. I offered to type a paper for him, which at that time was on a typewriter! I never mentioned to him I couldn’t type, and he never told me he could. We dated all throughout college and he typed ALL my papers. We spent one year apart when I attended Graduate School, but were engaged and purchased our first home upon my return. We were married in October of 1988 and have been married for 21 years. We are parents to two beautiful daughters. We keep in touch with most of our college roommates. In fact, my college roommate’s younger sister married my younger brother. They met visiting us at Montclair! (Posted 2.8.10)

Stewart and I met in Speech class during the 1980 spring semester (my freshman and his sophomore year). We began as friends first, sharing our mutual love of the New York Yankees! I remember seeing him at the Ratt after one of our first classes and thinking how cute he was! Our first date was in April of 1980 when we went to a Yankees baseball game. We dated on and off for the next several years, while we were both heavily involved in CINA (Council for International and National Affairs) and the SGA. In the winter of 1983 we resumed dating; we got engaged in June 1984 and married in October 1985. We'll celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary this October. We're still the best of friends and the parents of two die hard Yankees fans. (Posted 2.5.10)

Infanti

Daniel Infanti ’76 and Joette (Franco) ’76 Met mid-senior year on a Thursday night of fun at the Rathskeller. A four-year Stone Hall resident from Keyport, met a commuter girl from Nutley, and were married four years later. Still living in northern N.J. with two grown sons as we approach our 30th wedding anniversary. We have so many great memories of the years at Montclair State, but the top of the list is the love connection for life that we were able to make that crazy winter night in the Student Center. Carol (Connolly) and Frank Devita, both class of 1980, met in freshman English in 1976. Carol had moved to NJ with her family from Spain where her dad was stationed in the Air Force and Frank had gone back to college after serving in the US Army in Hawaii.
Their first date was at Windows on the World at the top of the
World Trade Center. Frank proposed to Carol on the drama stage
on Valentine's Day in 1977 and they waited until after graduation to wed. (Posted 7.16.09)

admit that it was their custom to have lunch under a tree on campus and sometimes shared "public displays of affection." A professor once approached them with the words: "This is not a drive-in movie." The Schmidts are pictured here in front of their favorite tree on Sept. 20, 2008 when they returned to campus for the University's Centennial celebration. (Posted 2.10.09)

Darlina and I met freshman year in an accounting class. For four and a half years we were friends with a mutual attraction to each other but were committed to other relationships. We spent a lot of time studying together, dancing at local clubs and the RAT, but never "officially" dated. After graduation, the timing became right for us. We were married in 1994. We have three boys: a 6- year- old and twin 4-year-olds. (Posted 2.10.09)

Freshman year 1979 - Bohn Hall 16th floor, my now husband of 23 years, passed out in my room! I barely knew him but it was love ever since! We are both graduates of the 1983 class and have lived in New Jersey, Connecticut, North Carolina and now Georgia. We have two beautiful boys, 18 and 16 and are as in love today as we were in college. (Posted 2.10.09)
