Alumni Online Community Gets an Upgrade
The Office of Alumni Relations is excited to announce that we've added new and improved features to the Alumni Online Community as well as ease of navigation--and it’s all still free. We launched the new platform on November 24.
Think MySpace or Facebook, but better, because it connects to your alma mater. Site services that have not changed include the ability to search for old classmates and contact them, share photos and register for chapter and group events.
New fun and interactive features to engage you include: Class Notes, where you can post your latest accomplishments and a photo for your fellow alumni to see; Blogs, where you can share your thoughts on your own personal profile; a Classifieds area, where you can list items and services for sale; and Message Boards, where you can engage in discussions with other members of the community. Within a few hours of the launch alumni posted 23 Class Notes, a few Message Board threads were started and alumni listed items in the Classified section. Check it out now.
MSU Alumnus Remembers his Alma Mater

President Susan A. Cole and Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Willard Gingerich welcomed Daniel (Don) Alexander '48 back to campus. Alexander brought along his dog Tiger for the visit.
Daniel G. Alexander ’48 was a hard-working undergraduate. “I always got good grades and made the honors list,” he shared. His favorite teacher was music professor Dr. Edna McEachern, for whom the current music building was named.
Alexander always planned to give something back to his alma mater. Now he has established The Daniel G. Alexander ’48 Endowed Scholarship through a bequest, to support academically outstanding students who work part-time. “The idea for this scholarship came to me when I was a student and also working,” he said.
