A day of Hope and Remembrance

The Montclair State Community came together September 11 to pay tribute to the heroes and victims of last year’s terrorist attacks in a day of Hope and Remembrance. Pictured right, Michele Brandao and Christian Suarez participate in an evening candlelight ceremony that began at 9:11. Pictured below right, Judith Lin Hunt, dean of Library Services, and her granddaughter Callista place soil around a tree planted outside Sprague Library in memory of alumni lost in the Sept. 11 attacks. The fallen alumni are Jean DePalma ’80, Robert “Bobby” Hughes ’01, Dorota Kopiczko ’99, Steven Schlag ’82, Khalid Shahid ’99, Dennis Taormina, Jr. ’88 and Shari Kandell, a student who was made an honorary member of the Alumni Association.
