| The official opening of the Joseph and Elda Coccia Institute for the Italian Experience in America was celebrated in the fall. Philanthropist and community leader Cav. Joseph Coccia, Jr. (center) and his wife, Elda (right), joined President Susan A. Cole in unveiling the plaque that marks the Institute in Dickson Hall. The Coccias made a generous pledge to Montclair State to establish and maintain the Institute in perpetuity. The Institute will focus on the historical and contemporary interplay of Italian people, culture and society with American culture and society. |
