Go to Department of Art and Design -- How To Apply for initial application instuctions and Portfolio Review dates.
After complying with the initial guidelines for applying to an art and design major, the next-step is to participate in a Portfolio Interview for Animation/Illustration. The Portfolio Interview is an opportunity to present your artistic work in person* to the faculty.
The Animation/Illustration portfolio should consist of the following:
- One-page biographical statement of who you are and your goals for studying Animation/Illustration.
- Selection of 15-20 pieces of artwork. This may include illustration and animation work, but also any 2-D or 3-D artworks. (Further suggestions of what to include may be found on the Portfolio Preparation Guidelines webpage.)
- A Sketchbook.
- Photocopy of your high school or college transcript.
Following the portfolio interreview, the Department of Art and Design will send its acceptance decision to the Office of Admissions, which, in turn, will notify you of your admission status.
*Note to out-of-town applicants: Where long-distance travel for an in-person interview is prohibitive, the department may explore alternative options of presenting the portfolio. Please contact the Program Admission Coordinator if circumstances apply.
