ON THE MOVE

News Highlights . . .

Our students, both former and current, are making their mark working in on-campus and professional productions. Our own Evan Ruggiero, a senior Musical Theatre major, was recently featured in the Season 12 opening episode of the national television hit series, American Idol. (Read more below.) One of our alumni is in the Broadway production of Newsies, three alumni were in the national touring company of A Chorus Line, while a former student, Bob McClure, played the title role in Chaplin, and garnered rave reviews for his work. (Read more about these and other students making their mark in the professional world here.)

Meanwhile, on campus, our theatre students are performing Nine and Equus this semester, as well as Peter/Wendy, and Andrew Lippa’s Wild Party.

Our dance students just wrapped up Dance Collage and are preparing to present Dance Works '13, featuring the architecturally cool Powers of Ten by modern dance pioneer May O’Donnell, and the improvisationally-based Continuous Replay by renowned dance master, Bill T. Jones. (Read more about the highlights of the Department's current spring season here.)

Meanwhile, our traveling performance group Theatre on the Move! is touring a half-hour show called Bullies-R-Us for middle and high school students about bullying.

I hope you will take some time to look at the other exciting programs we have in the Department of Theatre and Dance at Montclair State University.
