Production and Design Program Policies
Department of Theatre and Dance
Once admitted, students' continuation in the Production and Design program depends on their demonstration of professional promise, as determined through an annual review of their work with the faculty.
The following policies exist to ensure a high level of academic challenge and mutual support among all students throughout their studies:
- The first two years: If by the end of the spring semester of the freshman year a student shows a serious lack of progress, the student may be requested to withdraw from the program. If at that time progress remains unsatisfactory, the student will be dismissed from the program.
- The third and fourth years of the program involve refining skills acquired earlier through increasingly demanding assignments in classes and productions. Student advancement depends upon fulfillment of program requirements to date with indication of further growth capability. In all cases, students must receive formal approval of the faculty before beginning the third year.
