The George Segal Gallery presents a special exhibit in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising of 1943 featuring the works of Israel Bernbaum whose work was used to illustrate several children’s books, including the award-winning I am a Star: Child of the Holocaust by Inge Auerbacher, and his own work, My Brother’s Keeper: The Holocaust Through the Eyes of an Artist, which he dedicated to the memory of the 1 1/2-million Jewish children who did not survive the Holocaust. Dr. Batya Brutin is guest curator. This exhibit at George Segal Gallery is the centerpiece for campus-wide lectures, film screenings, children’s educational programs and other events by world-renowned Holocaust scholars, artists and authors. There will also be related programs including exhibition tours and workshops, a symposium, and a Holocaust Commemoration featuring in-person accounts from Holocaust survivors. (Read more about the exhibition here.)
