VOLUNTEERS/TIMERS
One of the most important factors at a swim meet is to record a swimmers time. This can not be done unless we have timers from our team step up and help at meets. We as a team are required to have timers at meets. We do not time at every session but when we have a certain amount of swimmers this becomes a requirement. We have asked certain parents to take charge at meets and help get all parents involved in timing. As a timer you have the best viewing location at the meets, you also have a chance to meet other swimmers your child will swim against and hear their reactions before and after a race. Timers are volunteers. When the parents in charge of timing are asking for help please step up and help out. Meets run about 3-4 hours, if we have 6 parents to time at each meet then they will only be timing 45 minutes each (with more parents the time limit decreases). We would hate to hear that a parent refused to time, it's not fair that only some parents time at swim meets. We as coaches do not need another thing to worry about at the meets. If as a parent you refuse to time, we have no problem having your child time while you sit in the stands. This is not the best thing for your childs performance but may become necessary. We will not scratch a swimmer from a swim meet because a parent refuses to time. We hope that everyone will volunteer and help out.

Thank you,
The Coaches
