MIX NAMED NJAC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK FOR SECOND TIME

Montclair, NJ (3/9/09) – Freshman guard Ali Mix (right) was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week for the second time this season on Monday. Mix helped MSU to the ECAC Tournament semifinals as he averaged 17.0 points in two games.

RED HAWKS FALL TO LEHMAN IN ECAC METRO TOURNAMENT SEMIFINALS

Montclair, NJ (3/7/09) – Despite another outstanding performance from sophomore forward Jon Georges (right) the Montclair State men's basketball team was knocked out of the ECAC Division III Metro Tournament on Saturday as the top-seeded Red Hawks fell to No. 4 seed Lehman College, 74-63 at the APEX Center in the Bronx. Georges recorded another monster double-double with 26 points and 14 rebounds as MSU concluded its season at 21-7, just the eighth time in school history that Montclair has won 20-plus games in a season and the first time since 2003.

MIX, GEORGES LEAD NO. 1 SEED MONTCLAIR PAST MARITIME IN ECAC METRO TOURNAMENT

Montclair, NJ (3/4/09) – Freshman guard Ali Mix (right) pumped in a season-high 27 points while sophomore Jon Georges put up a solid double-double with 22 points and 18 rebounds as top-seeded Montclair State knocked off No. 8 seed Maritime College, 79-67 in the opening round of the ECAC Division III Metro Men’s Basketball Tournament at the MSU Student Recreation Center on Wednesday evening.
