RED HAWKS FALL SHORT IN BID FOR ECAC METRO CHAMPIONSHIP
Union, NJ (5/10/09) – The Montclair State softball team fell two runs short of another final day comeback as the Red Hawks fell to Rutgers-Camden in the championship game of the ECAC Division III Metro Tournament, 6-4 at Kean University on Sunday. Freshman Michelle Moat (right) earned her first collegiate victory as she beat Rutgers-Camden to force a deciding contest for the title. MSU finished the year at 29-18.

MONTCLAIR STATE SPLITS IN ECAC TOURNAMENT FIRST DAY
Union, NJ (5/9/09) – Senior Jennifer Jimenez (right) returned from a six-game absence and belted a home run as second-seeded Montclair State split a pair of games in the ECAC Division III Metro Tournament at Kean University on Saturday. The Red Hawks downed Richard Stockton, 6-3 before falling to Rutgers-Camden 3-2. MSU will face Richard Stockton in an elimination game on Sunday, May 10 at 10:00 am and then take two from Rutgers-Camden for a chance at the title.

MURDUCA LEADS MSU PAST PURCHASE IN ECAC TOURNAMENT
Little Falls, NJ (5/7/09) – Junior designated player Leigh Ann Murduca (right) collected a pair of doubles and drove in four runs as second-seeded Montclair State knocked off No. 7 seed Purchase College, 6-3 in the opening round of the 2009 Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Metro Tournament at the MSU Softball Stadium on Thursday afternoon.
