SPADONI NAMED SOPHOMORE FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
Montclair, NJ (6/9/09) - Sophomore Laura Spadoni (Nazareth, PA / Nazareth Area) was named the Montclair State Sophomore Female Athlete of the Year as the Athletic Department announced its award winners for 2008-09. Spadoni set two new individual school records, provisionally qualifying for the NCAA Division III Championships, while helping the 400 medley relay team to a third MSU record as the Red Hawks finished second among all Division III schools at the 2009 Metropolitan Conference Championships.

SPADONI, LOUTCHOUK SET MARKS IN 200 BREASTSTROKE, 1650 FREESTYLE ON FINAL DAY OF METRO CHAMPIONSHIPS; WOMEN PLACE SECOND AMONG DIVISION III TEAMS
New Brunswick, NJ (2/22/09) - Sophomore Laura Spadoni (Nazareth, PA / Nazareth Area) registered another NCAA "B" cut while also setting her second individual record and Galina Loutchouk (Richboro, PA / Council Rock) did the same to make seven new school marks for the Montclair State women as the Red Hawks closed out action at the Both teams placed seventh overall among the field of Division I, II and III institutions in the standings as the MSU women totaled 645 points. However the Red Hawks were second among all Division III schools with 904 points finishing behind overall winner The College of New Jersey. On the men's side, Montclair collected 457 points in the overall team standings, but was fourth among the Division III squads with 534 points.
