MONTCLAIR KNOCKED OUT OF NJAC TOURNAMENT BY KEAN

Montclair, NJ (2/25/09) - Junior guard Jackie Berry (right) scored 13 points and grabbed four rebounds, however Montclair State was knocked out of the NJAC Tournament with a 76-55 loss to Kean University in the semifinals at the MSU Student Recreation Center on Wednesday evening.

AYANBEKU NAMED NJAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR, FIRST-TEAM ALL-NJAC; HARVEY TABBED COACH OF THE YEAR

Montclair, NJ (2/25/09) - Junior forward Kisandra Ayanbeku (right) was named the Defensive Player of the Year and earned First-Team honors while head coach Karin Harvey was selected Coach of the Year as the New Jersey Athletic Conference unveiled its 2009 All-Conference Team on Wednesday. Junior guard Jackie Berry was chosen Second Team. Both players helped the Red Hawks (18-7, 11-2 NJAC) to the NJAC North Division title this season and the overall No. 1 seed in the NJAC Tournament.

MSU, KEAN TO BATTLE IN NJAC TOURNAMENT SEMIFINALS

Montclair, NJ (2/21/09) - It’s a throw-back matchup in the NJAC Tournament Semifinals on Wednesday, February 25 as Montclair State will host Kean University at the MSU Student Recreation. Tipoff of the contest is slated for 7:00 pm. Tickets for each game are $5 for adults $2 for students, children and seniors. Due to NJAC regulations all tickets must be purchased. Seating is limited in the MSU Student Recreation Center (approximately 400 seats) so tickets will be on a first-come-first-serve basis. The ticket window will open at 6:00 pm.
