Art Forum: Mickalene Thomas

New York based artist Mickalene Thomas is best known for her elaborate paintings composed of rhinestones, acrylic, and enamel. Thomas introduces a complex vision of what it means to be a woman and expands common definitions of beauty. Art Forum is a speakers' series featuring notable artists, designers, art historians and art critics from around the world who come to campus to present their work and ideas in an open forum.
