A half-day program for high school teachers. The successful and unsuccessful pursuit of the American dream has been a theme of interest to American novelists and dramatists since the nineteenth century. This workshop for high school teachers will focus on critical and pedagogical approaches to high school texts that explore this theme in multiple ways with characters that pursue quests for social, political, and sexual freedom, and economic prosperity
