The Margaret and Herman Sokol Science Lecture Series presents Dr. Maureen E. Raymo, Lamont Research Professor and Director of the Lamont-Doherty Core Repository Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, Columbia University. She will be giving the lecture on her topic "Collapse of Ice Sheets in the Ancient Climate (and What This Means For the World Now)."

The Impact of Climate Change

In the wake of the UN climate summit last week, this talk will further delve into the impact and meaningfulness of climate change.

Dr. Maureen E. Raymo

Dr. Raymo is well-known for her interdisciplinary work, particularly using palaeoceanography to better understand the thermohaline circulation and pacing of ice ages over the Pleistocene (2.588 million to 11,700 years ago) and Pliocene (5.333 million to 2.58 million years ago) and how they link to changes in orbital forcing and Milankovitch climate dynamics.

Tickets can be purchased through the Kasser Theater Box Office or by calling 973-655-5112.
