The deadline to apply to study abroad for the Spring 2015 is October 15th, 2014. For program information, see more details here, and for an application overview, see more details here.

If you are interested in studying abroad, please e-mail Nyieta Charlot (charlotn@mail.montclair.edu) for an appointment to discuss studying abroad.

Please follow these steps to complete your application:

Apply Online- Create Account:

When you find a program that is of interest to you please click Apply Now from that programs page to begin the application process.  This does not obligate you to the program, a particular term or even to study abroad.  It helps us begin the process of advising you and communicating with you.

Personal Statement:

In no more than 2 pages, tell us  your motivation to study abroad. What do you hope to learn from your study abroad experience?  How do you think studying abroad will help you in your academic and future endeavors?

Two References:

Please acquire recommendations from two Montclair State professors.  If you are unable to acquire recommendations from two Montclair professors, one can be substituted by a supervisor at work or any other objective person familiar with your character and able to judge your ability to participate on a study abroad program.

Administrative Fee:

All MSU students are required to pay the $400 administrative fee.  Check or money order is payable to "Montclair State University" and submitted with your application to Global Ed.

Liability Waiver Form:

Please read, and sign electronically.

Code of Conduct Form:

Please read, and sign electronically.

Transcript:

Request from the Registrars Office either via WESS or in person to have your academic transcript sent to the Global Education Center for inclusion in your records.  Go to the Registrar's Office in College Hall.  Have your official MSU transcript sent to:  Study Abroad Department, Global Education Center, 1 Normal Avenue Stone Hall, Room 215.
Visiting Students will need to send their home school transcripts.

Specific Program Application Form:

Students may also have to complete an application form for the specific program that they are applying through such as our partners ISA, CEA, SIT, or Semester at Sea.  These are just a few of our program partners and more details are found under our Countries and Programs Section and within the individual program description.
