Dream of seeing your startup’s name in the lights of the Internet? What would it cost to become a registrar of a domain (say, Citibank purchasing .bank)? How do you navigate and demystify the world of domain names? Has your company’s domain name ever been held hostage for a large sum of money? Join us Jan. 27 for a lively and engaging discussion on how to use domain names as a marketing, business and intellectual property tool.

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has recently expanded the available generic top-level domains (gTLD), which are the letters immediately following the final dot in an Internet address. This is the largest-ever expansion of the domain name system (DNS), and the goal is to enhance competition, innovation and consumer choice as entities can apply to operate a top-level domain registry. In essence, each operator becomes the custodian of a piece of the Internet’s core infrastructure (i.e., owning every website with .bank, in the example above).

How does this impact your startup or business? How can you protect your brand or trademark when there will be so many new top-level domains? Find out at this event!
