“Latsky all but sets fire wherever she treads.  The balance between thrashing, full-throttle dancing and control is astonishing.  Ever heard of immaculate mayhem?” – Village Voice

"Why not?" has been choreographer and dancer Heidi Latsky's battle cry since she began her career.  She adds film director to her résumé when Triptych, comprised of two live dances and the debut of the short film Soliloquy, premieres at Peak Performances.  For Latsky, directing the film provided a new dimension of "why not?"  As a leading physically integrated company, Heidi Latsky Dance features disabled and non-disabled performers, including some with specific physicalities like deafness, hyperflexibility, cerebral palsy, and Parkinson's.  With Triptych, Latsky's dancers continue to present "unexpected bodies in beautiful ways" and collaborate with the eye of the beholder to redefine notions of beauty and virtuosity.

Dance for Film on Location at Montclair State University makes its debut with the world premiere of Heidi Latsky's short film. With support from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the project will bring three outstanding choreographers and cinematographers to campus to collaborate on the creation of short dance films.
