Sin Alas (Without Wings) the first American drama filmed entirely in Cuba since 1959, depicting Cuban life past and present.

The project began with an experimental documentary approach exploring magical realism in Cuba through the poetry and fiction of Cuban laureate Jose Lezama Lima and his Argentine counterpart Jorge Luis Borges. During the development and preproduction process Chace moved towards an experimental narrative approach, interpreting and reimagining concepts from Lezama Lima and Borges within the context of modern Cuban history.
