Title: "The Syndrome of Romantic Love"
Speaker: Arina Pismenny (CUNY, The Graduate Center, and Montclair State University)
Description: Contrary to the belief commonly held by many philosophers, psychologists, and ordinary folk, romantic love does not seem to adequately fit any standard psychological category. Through examining and rejecting categories like emotions, emotion complexes, and sentiments, I propose to think of love as a syndrome.
