“Wildly inventive…. steeped in myth but utterly modern…. a tour de force.” – The Washington Post

Commissioned by Peak Performances as part of its new extended residency program, PeARL, QUIXOTE is a bold re-imagining of the Cervantes classic. With new music by Amy Beth Kirsten and direction by Mark DeChiazza, the team that created Colombine’s Paradise Theater, QUIXOTE lets us experience the mad knight’s hallucinations first hand. A soprano, mezzo-soprano, contralto and four singing percussionists provide the voices inside the old man’s head. This simple and gorgeous production is equal parts storefront theatre and expressionistic opera.

Read The New York Times review of Amy Beth Kirsten and Mark DeChiazza's 2014 collaboration, Colombine's Paradise Theater.

75 minutes, no intermission.
