The Center for Cooperative Media is partnering again with NJ Spotlight to host our award-winning Election Night Open Newsroom. Join us for pizza and politics in Morehead Hall at Montclair State University on Election Day, Nov. 8, from 6 p.m. until the last vote is counted.
All publishers, journalists, freelancers, students, and media-minded people are invited to help us tally the results and populate NJ Spotlight's live election results map. The map will be updated in real-time, and can be embedded or republished for free.
We'll bring the pizza and drinks. All you have to bring is your enthusiasm and some basic spreadsheet skills.
Let us know if you can make it! Fill out the form below (or click here to view it in a separate window) and we'll add you to the list. You'll get an email from us confirming your participation next week.
Attendees should plan to arrive around 6 p.m and park in the Red Hawk Parking Deck; don't worry about paying for parking, as we will give you a parking voucher. Click here to view a walking map from the parking deck to Morehead Hall, which is home to the School of Communication and Media and the College of the Arts. We will be in Room 143.
We plan to livestream parts of the open newsroom, and we'll also record video and take photos throughout the night for post-production and promotional purposes. If you don't want to be on camera, let us know and we'll make sure to keep you out of the shot.
If you have questions, send them to firstname.lastname@example.org and include the words "Election Night Open Newsroom" in the subject line.
