"As the Nov. 8 outcome becomes clear, Nov. 9 looms almost as large. Should Democrats win their sixth presidential popular vote in the past seven elections, both parties will have to react to a country tilting left while Republicans are racing to the right. Then two questions will dominate our politics for years: Can the GOP reconstitute itself from a grievance party to a governing party? And will Hillary Clinton’s transition and term reflect her inner Wellesley or Wall Street?"
Mark Green is host of the syndicated weekend radio show "Both Sides Now" and author of "Bright, Infinite Future: A Generational Memoir on the Progressive Rise." He was New York City’s first public advocate and ran for mayor in 2001.
