Jason Calacanis talk and book signing
Jason Calacanis, an early investor in Uber, is a serial entrepreneur and has invested in more than 150 companies, including multi-billion dollar "unicorns." Some of his other investments include Thumbtack, Wealthfront, DataStax, Robinhood. He also has built and sold multiple companies for tens of millions of dollars.
Calacanis will speak at Montclair State University on Tues. July 25, 6-9 p.m., when he is interviewed by David Sorin, McCarter & English partner, in a fireside chat setup. Calacanis will also sign his new book, “Angel,” during the event. The first 80 people to arrive at the event will receive a free copy of Calacanis’ “Angel” book, thanks to the generous support of McCarter & English. The event is free and open to the public.
Calacanis hosts the popular podcast “This Week in Startups,”which has aired 745 episodes. He also is the founder of Launch Festival, which is dubbed the world’s largest startup event with more than 12,000 people from around the world attending the annual gathering in San Francisco.
Calacanis is the CEO of Inside.com, a network of email newsletters that deliver “real news, curated by real humans.” Inside.com has newsletters dedicated to topics such as: Apple, Venture Capital, VR & AR, Bitcoin, Facebook, IoT, Snap, beer, artificial intelligence, drones, Amazon, and more.
Calacanis is nimble and in tune with what’s happening in the market. He spots opportunities early—for example he is @Jason on Twitter (yet explains in this blog post why he passed on investing in Twitter, and Zynga). Learn more about why Calacanis does--and does not--invest in opportunities during our Meetup. This promises to be a dynamic and exciting event! Don’t miss it!
