Connections are vital for entrepreneurs - but how do you make these links, and how do you turn a business card, handed to you at a networking event, into a valuable connection?

Four entrepreneurs will offer tips about how they built a network, and how they were able to leverage that network to help their businesses.

Event is presented by the Feliciano Center for Entrepreneurship and New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners (NJAWBO).

Speaker bios: 

Laurel Bernstein is the Founder and President of Executive Coaching, a New Jersey based consulting and training firm focused on enhancing the performance and leadership skills for small business owners. Ms. Bernstein has interacted with coaching executives for over two decades, while working in tandem with some of the most powerful management teams among New York’s corporate elite. Ms. Bernstein holds a B.A. in Science Education from Montclair State University and a Certificate in Professional Coaching from Baruch CUNY Zicklin Business School iCoach New York. She has served as the president of various community initiatives. She is past President of the MetroEast Region of the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners in Essex, Hudson and Union Counties and currently the VP of Membership of NJAWBO statewide.

Xiomara Guevara, currently holds the position of Executive Director for the Morris County Organization for Hispanic Affairs. MCOHA has improved the lives of Morris County residents by providing direct social services, education and client advocacy regardless of their race, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation. MCOHA is an important resource for nearly 12,000 low-income residents every year. Previously, Ms. Guevara served as Center Director for La Casa de Don Pedro Preschool programs.  She has taught for Fairleigh Dickinson University for nearly a decade. She received her B.A. from Drew University where she Double Majored in Political Science and Spanish and Minored in Latin American Studies and Jewish Studies.  She completed her Masters in Public Administration from New York University, the Robert Wagner School for Public Service as a Public Interest Scholar.  Most recently she completed her Juris Doctorate at Rutgers Law School-Newark as an evening student.

Rosanna Imbriano, owner of R.I. Consulting of Cedar Grove, is a business relationship strategist and marketing consultant. She empowers her clients to think outside the box to help them grow their businesses by marketing in nontraditional ways, which also saves them lots of money and gains the exposure they are looking for. Imbriano is also the current state president of the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners (NJAWBO). Her relationship with the organization started 15 years ago and she has been involved ever since, establishing working relationships with many other professionals throughout the state of New Jersey.

Hallie Satz, CEO and founder of HighRoad Press, operates an award winning, G7 certified, full-service printing company located in the Meadowlands area of New Jersey.  Hallie began her career in 1981 working with her family’s printing company, Barton Press — a firm already spanning three generations. After a buyout by private investors, Hallie became President and served for seven years. In 2004, she left this position to establish HighRoad Press, a proud WPEO and WPO printing company with an inspiring company culture for employees and clients alike. HighRoad has been recognized as one of the 50 Fastest Growing Women-Led Companies in North America by the WPO and American Express OPEN, one of the Top 400 Printers in the USA by Printing Impressions, a Top 100 Woman Owned Company and a Top 500 Diversity-Owned Business in America by Diversity.com.
