GroupX Instructor Kimberly AsmanMajor - Nutrition
Kimberly is a Nutrition major at Montclair State University with a concentration in Dietetics. She started teaching Group Fitness in high school and currently teaches Kickboxing and HardCORE at the Student Recreation Center. Kimberly brings high levels of energy and enthusiasm to all of her Group Fitness classes!
GroupX Instructor Jennine CriscuoloMajor - Nutrition/Food Science
Jennine is a sophomore at Montclair State University majoring in Nutrition and Food Science with a concentration in Dietetics who is passionate about health and wellness. This is her first year as a Group Exercise instructor at the Student Recreation Center and she looks forward to instructing during the duration of her time here. Jennine instructs class formats such as PowerPump and HardCORE with the goal of helping her participants challenge themselves and meet their fitness goals!
GroupX Instructor Cala FilsMajor - BioChem/French
Cala is a second year student with a double major of Biochemistry and French. She is one of our new Group Fitness Instructors and will be teaching HardCORE this semester. Her classes will strengthen your abdominals; you should expect to work your whole core, which includes the upper back, the gluteus and the abdominal muscles. She loves listening to different types of music and will do her best to keep her classes hyped. Cala is exited to teach this upcoming semester and wishes that everyone would have a great semester!
Group X Instructor Antoine JoynerMajor - Athletic Training
Antoine is a junior and Athletic Training major. He is excited to share his growing fitness knowledge, athletic training student experience, and martial arts background with the Campus Recreation community. Antoine is developing his fitness spectrum through obtaining two new certifications and instructing a new custom format called Mini-Band Mania. Antoine is happy to bring a unique twist to the evolving Group Fitness programs here at Montclair State University.
GroupX Instructor Cora-Ann LicwinkoMajor - Exercise Science
Cora-Ann is a senior Exercise Science major with a minor in Psychology, graduating August 2014! She has been teaching group exercise classes for over three years and has taught a variety of class formats. She is ACE certified in Group Fitness, as well as in Les Mills BodyPump, but also has experience in teaching core classes, sculpting classes, bootcamp formats, and TRX. She is especially excited to teach a freestyle barbell class this semester! As an instructor, Cora is always positive and motivating to everyone and seeks to help people to feel good about themselves and increase their confidence and strength through exercise. Outside of group exercise, Cora is also a personal trainer and a staff member for Health Promotion on campus, where she continues to spread her passion and knowledge about fitness and health.
GroupX Instructor Melissa MapsonMajor - Psychology
As a psychology major here at Montclair State University, Melissa is able to combine her love for working with people, and passion for working out into being a motivating fitness instructor. In finishing her third year instructing, Melissa is excited to prepare for her final year teaching at the Student Recreation Center. As a dancer and former athlete, her familiarity with fitness provides her Zumba and TRX classes with an experience that is rewarding, invigorating and most importantly fun!
GroupX Instructor Kelly MathewsMajor - Exercise Science
Kelly is a junior at Montclair State University and this is her second year teaching at the Student Recreation Center.  She is an Exercise Science major with a minor in Public Health.  Her main classes are Cardio Bootcamp, SandSLAM, and Kickboxing but she has also taught HardCORE as well as Total Body Challenge.  She is working on getting her primary certification in February and a certification in TRX.  Kelly is certified in Les Mills BodyCombat and is planning on getting another Les Mills certification in March.  In her down time, Kelly can't stay away from Student Recreation Center and after graduation she plans on moving to New Zealand.
GroupX Instructor Marissa MurrayMajor - Exercise Science
Marissa is a junior at Montclair State University majoring in Exercise Science. She’s been very involved with fitness and group exercise since the age of 17. Marissa is really looking forward to teaching a high energized SandSLAM class this semester! She is an NPC Bikini Competitor and a sponsored athlete of MHP and J&R Nutrition. Health and wellness are a huge passion of hers and she hopes to bring a positive, uplifting attitude to her classes and the Student Recreation Center.
GroupX Instructor Scott SatcherMajor - Nutrition
Scott is a junior at Montclair State University studying Nutrition. He is a very self-motivated individual that gets a genuine delight by helping others in any way possible. Having been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA for nearly the last five years, Scott is very excited to share his knowledge to others through his class. This will be Scott’s second semester teaching BJJ at the Student Recreation Center and he is very excited and is looking forward to creating an environment where everyone is learning and striving to get better while having a great time.
GroupX Instructor Amanda SchreinerMajor - Psychology
Amanda is a Jersey girl who grew up doing both dance and cheer. Amanda is majoring in Psychology with a minor in Public Health; she has a certificate in Child Advocacy, and is fulfilling requirements to go to medical school when she graduates from Montclair State University. Through middle and high school, she took yoga classes to balance her busy life. Since she came to Montclair in 2011, Amanda’s love of yoga has grown, along with her busy schedule. She is now certified through YogaFit. By February 2014, Amanda will also hold both a Pilates and primary group fitness certification. She currently teaches open level yoga classes, perfect for any participant: from beginner to guru. Amanda teaches both slow-burn and vinyasa classes which focus on being confident, grateful, and stress free. Her creative flows will allow participants to sweat it out then completely relax with a guided deep-meditation.
GroupX Instructor Samantha StewartMajor - Nutrition
Samantha is a junior Nutrition major with a concentration in Dietetics at Montclair State. She teaches Pilates and Cycling; and is certified by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America. Samantha brings her love for fitness and a healthy lifestyle to her classes and motivates her participants to feel good about themselves and accomplish their fitness goals!
GroupX Instructor Brittany TierneyMajor - Exercise Science
Brittany is a freshman majoring in Exercise Science. She has been dancing since she was two years old and now shares her passion for dance through teaching Zumba classes at the Student Recreation Center. Brittany loves Zumba because it is a great motivator for exercise. One hour of cardio and toning goes really quick because participants are having so much fun. Her goal is to keep people fit and healthy and to be educated in doing so.
