Easy Drop-In Hike

3 - 5 p.m.

Free Montclair State ID

Leaving from the Panzer Athletic Center, participants will get to explore Mills Reservation, a local nature preserve very close to campus. This is a short, easy hike. Perfect to break in your hiking shoes!

Easy Hike - Hacklebarney State Park

10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Students $10

Miss summer already? Then come with us on a short 2.65 mile hike in Hacklebarney State Park on the Riverside and Windy Ridge trails! Be sure to keep your eye out for three rare and endangered plant species that exist within the park.

Easy Hike - 9/11 Remembrance

10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Free with Montclair State ID

Take a gentle hike at Eagle Rock Reservation to a striking view of Manhattan. A thoughtful way to observe and remember September 11, 2001. Trip departs from the Student Recreation Center.

Full Moon Hike

Thursday, October 5

9 p.m. - 12 a.m.

Students $10

Strap on a headlamp and enjoy this late-night hike under the light of the full moon with the Manhattan skyline view at the end! This easy hike will take place at High Mountain Park.

Oktoberfest Hike - Bear Mountain

Saturday, October 7

10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Students $10

Master the mountains and tell your friends you hiked along the Appalachian Trail! This hike takes place in Bear Mountain State Park, NY during the same time of their Oktoberfest. So strap on your lederhosen and taste some wurst!

Advanced Hike - Mt.Tammany

Students $10

Strenuous 3.5 mile loop hike up Mt. Tammany. Rocky and steep with great views of the Delaware Water Gap and surrounding area.

Full Moon Hike

Strap on a headlamp and enjoy this late-night hike under the light of the full moon with the Manhattan skyline view at the end! This easy hike will take place at High Mountain Park.

Moderate Hike - Ghost Lake

Sunday, November 12

10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Students $10

This Haunted Hike at Ghost Lake in Jenny Jump State Park will send you running for the hills! Whether you believe in ghosts or not, this is a hauntingly beautiful hike. This moderately rated 5.7 mile loop has great views of mountains and valleys before arriving at the lake. Some say that a Native American burial ground lies below the surface.

Advanced Hike - Storm King

Ten-Hut! Drop what you’re doing and come with us to the top of Storm King Mountain!

This 2.5 mile loop is within shouting distance from West Point Military Academy. Get your boots on the ground with 890 feet in gained elevation. You will find your courage and some of the best views at the top of this mountain.
