Living on Campus

Montclair State University's Office of Residential Education & Services is committed to making on-campus living one of the most lasting influences on a student’s life. From structured activities sponsored by a residence hall staff and hall councils, to spur-of-the-moment informal gatherings, the Residential Education & Services emphasis is on developing an individual’s sense of responsibility, while at the same time encouraging personal growth

Facilties

Situated around the academic buildings at Montclair State are eight residential facilities accommodating a variety of lifestyles. The facilities include traditional double-loaded corridors and suite-style arrangements as well as apartment communities. Each residence facility has its own personality as determined not only by its physical structure, but also by the staff and the people who live there.

Special Interests

Montclair State's special interest living communities enable residential students to live among people with whom they share interests. For example, our First Year Connections living community puts incoming freshmen together in a residence hall that has common areas where new students can meet and mingle.  Whether it’s our international living community—in a residence hall that has cooking facilities and is open all year to host our international students—or living communities for arts students or students majoring in science and mathematics,  we want your residence experience here to be enjoyable as you learn and build lifelong friendships.
