I want to find out about counseling and testing services:

Appointments with career counselors can be made by calling 973.655.5194. Appointments are scheduled for 50 minutes and are available to any matriculated MSU student or alum. Together, you and your counselor can determine if additional counseling appointments are necessary.
Testing is available through Career Development. Students are required to meet with a counselor for an appointment to determine which testing instrument may be useful. After taking the tests, a subsequent appointment is scheduled to go over test results.
The following instruments are available through Career Development: The Self Directed Search, the Strong Interest Inventory and the Myers Briggs Type Indicator.
Additionally, we offer Focus, our web based, career guidance program.
Typical counseling issues concern choice of major, occupation or graduate school and help with the job hunt. Any topics concerning career development are appropriate. You do not have to know your major or career goal to use the office!
Drop-In Counseling is available for students who have a quick question and don't need a regular appointment. Each student is seen for about ten minutes on a "first come-first served" basis.
