How can I learn what others have done with their majors, as well as what I might like to study?

  1. Try to find a subject or subjects that intrigue you and hold your interest. Think about what you'd like to learn just for the fun of it. You will be spending a lot of time working in your major so your choice is important.

  2. Read the course descriptions in the course catalog, go to the College Store and look at the books you might be using, talk to faculty and upperclassmen.

  3. While your choice of major does not have to determine what you do to earn a living, it's a good idea to find out more about careers. People with similar interests, skills and personalities are often drawn to study the same subjects and work in the same fields.
