How can I visit work settings that intrigue me? Join a Career Conversation!
A number of employers from our employer data base have volunteered to have you visit their sites for part of a day, so that you can learn more about a variety of work settings. The more you increase your understanding of the work world, the better your own career decisions will be.
What this program is not:
Your visit will not be an interview. Employers have volunteered to show you around, discuss their organization, their industry, and provide an intro to the work they do: in short, to have a “career conversation” with you. (It does seem possible, however, that they may ask about you and your career goals, so you might want to have a resume with you and be dressed professionally.)
How to use:
•You and the employer will make your own arrangements as to time and date.
•Please call or email the employer at the address or number indicated in the chart below to indicate your interest in visiting.
•Be sure to identify yourself as a Montclair State University student who is using the Career Development Center’s Career Conversations program.
•It is your responsibility to arrange your own travel.
After your meeting:
We would appreciate hearing from you via email (careerserv@montclair.edu) to let us know how your visit went.
